Jimbaran is a sleepy cove where fleets of fishing boats colour
the scene. Since the opening of The Four Seasons Resort Bali and
the Bali Inter Continental, this once-quiet area has now become
a popular resort in Bali. Local families and tourists are drawn
by its beauty, and to enjoy the food of the superb and calm waters
attract many people. It is very popular spot for windsurfing and
small sailing craft, which are available for rent.
Dining in Jimbaran
One of the simplest, economical and yet most tasty and exotic
of Bali's eating out choices has to be the fish cafes of Jimbaran.
An extension of the life of this sleepy fishing village, the fish
cafes started as a few alung-alung huts on the beach and have
expanded to become a thriving industry. Now they concentrate around
the beach area near the central Jimbaran markets and stretch all
the way up to the airport. The flavour produced when the fresh
seafood smothered in mouth watering spice mixes is barbecued over
coconut husks is fantastic. Choose your own prawns, lobster, squid
or fish, sit back in the sand and watch the sun go down over the
water while the food is prepared.
